Talk:Albacore

It seems that the Albacore has some features seemingly contradicting each other:

In Under the Bridge, Widget's cabin is on lower deck, below the control room (she uses an elevator to get there). But in Sovereign it has a door opening to the said room, so is on the upper deck. So unless I've misunderstood and her cabin and Meditation Chamber are two entirely different rooms, this is quite puzzling.

Second, how bid the engine room and the motors really are? Since the whole thing was to be made out of a washing machine, it was prone to be quite large, especially since the whole assembly had to work in reverse, and for that the intake needed to be parallel to the hull, most easily accomplished by making it into a rim. Then in Sovereign there is a mention of the stern torpedo room... Now where would I put it?

Third, the bridge, or rather the control room, which is completely hidden inside the hull, but has saw blades running to the top of it at the same time...

Fourthly, the little one can spin in a ball right through the entire length of the boat, which rules out raised doors.

Fifthly, where exactly is the sonar station located? For the Albacore to reach 25kts underwater, she would need a round bow, and that makes it difficult to place a relatively thin glass for the sonar station (is should be pointing forward, but that is not a necessity). Plus Sovereign implies a really huge height of the room (Widget had to point upwards for Chip and the others to notice Fenton, which means that his station is much above their line of sight). And again there comes the operational depth of over 200m.

And lastly, how exactly the Nimnul Generator looks like, where exactly it is located and where are the ruder gears? Judging by the disastrous accident that happened with Andy in the engine room, Widget faced the generator, while Andy was behind her. When he got startled, he *backed away* and landed in the ruder transition with his heel. Assuming the generator is placed aft center (for it would be the most practical place for it to be located), than the ruder transition would be located centrally too... unless I misread something again...
