During 1981, it was reported there were plans to have made a 4-door version of the car (perhaps on a longer wheelbase) for 1983. It was to have been of stainless steel, and with gullwing doors.

Van Man always goes out to do something social with Dale and Gadget on Fridays.
Van Man goes out with his former staff from the plant in Houston as well but they find it hard to get him motivated when he does not have money in human-size. He frequently goes in his rodent-sized bedroom and shuts the door when staff is there.
Van Man had started working at the DMC plant in Houston on Thursdays in the graphics design room.

2008
It was a warm and peaceful morning at the Acorn Cafe on May 30. Most patrons were still sleeping, just some early risers were sitting at tables, the bar, and couch of the main living room. Some were drinking their morning coffee, others were already fallen asleep on their tables again. Only Dr. Indy had something useful to do. He was just cleaning the glasses and was preparing himself for the next rush. The TV was on, some morning news, nothing important, it seemed as if it would be fairly boring.
Going up the stairs above the bar, Gadget goes to another corridor with several closed doors. It was the sleeping rooms of the Cafe patrons who decided to sleep in the Cafe. One door begun to open itself very slowly and quiet, it was labeled as "Titanic". A young mouse came out of the room on her way to the bathrooms. Slowly tumbling along the corridor still in her pajamas Titanic begun to rub her eyes and to yawn very long before she vanished into one of the bathrooms and closed the door behind her.
Titanic just washed her head and smiled when she begun to dry herself off. Later on her way to the main staircase, Titanic stopped ahead a slightly opened door of one of the sleeping rooms. On the door stand a small name "Van Man". She took a short glance inside, it was too dark to see something and walked further to the sitting room. On the other side of the now closed door the young male mouse in the bed begun to move slowly.
Slowly a hand begun to search its way to a nearby lamp and turned it on. "Ah... that was a terrible night.", the mouse begun to stretch and just lay there for several minutes on the bed wheezing and moaning. Van Man laid the blanket away and sat up. Almost soaked of the sweating the young mouse holds his hands and arms ahead of his body and was totally drained.
The young mouse gets very very dizzy and suddenly broke down on his bed.
