Chip: You know you're supposed to clean up after yourself.
Dale: Says who?
Chip: Says me, that's who!
Dale: You're not the boss of me!
Gadget: (enters) What's going on here?
Monty: This reminds me of the time I got shanghaied in Shanghai on a junk full of junk! (pauses) I think that happened twice!
Chip: We don't have time for playing pirates!
Dale: You're just jealous 'cause you don't have a hat.
The bridge in the background of the junk barge scene remotely resembles the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, a hint for the Rangers' hometown being San Francisco.
The Pi-Rats captain - Long Lost Lafitte - is a reference to a real pirate - Jean Lafitte, who indeed disappeared (probably was mortally wounded during an engagement). One of the legends surrounding this figure tells that his treasure sank with his ship, the Pride. It is believed that it went down during a hurricane. Another version of that story states that it was in fact the weight of Lafitte's treasures that sunk his ship.
