Synopsis

The episode begins with the Fleeblebroxians (who can change shapes) Bric, Brac, and DTZ preparing to return home after their vacation on Earth. Bric and Brac leave, but DTZ doesn't want to because he likes it on Earth. DTZ leaves the Fleeblebroxian ship just before it goes to warp, and returns to Earth where he lands near Rescue Ranger Headquarters.

Meanwhile, Chip sends Dale out to go gather more walnuts after Dale ate all of the ones that Monty was using to make walnut wallaroos. In doing so, Dale meets DTZ, who decides that he wants to be a Rescue Ranger like Dale, and takes his shape. The other Rangers notice a profound change in Dale as DTZ tries to be helpful around the HQ.

Meanwhile, Bric and Brac have returned, discovering that DTZ is missing. DTZ sends Dale back up to the Fleeblebroxian ship, where he causes all sorts of trouble before escaping and returning to prove that DTZ is an impostor. The Fleeblebroxians follow, and threaten to "atomize the Earth to tiny bits" if the real DTZ doesn't show himself, and it's up to Dale to prove that he's the real thing.

Quotes

Dale: Two Dale's gotta be better than one!

Dale: Beam me up, Scotty.

Computer Voice: Space Pod Room.

Dale: Thanks!

Computer Voice: You're welcome.

Brac: Show yourself immediately DTZ, or we will atomize this planet to tiny bits, because we know it's your favorite thing.

Monty: (gulps) We're a mite partial to it, too.

DTZ: Don't worry Dale, they're bluffing!

Gadget: Wait a minute! You can't blow up this planet or you'll blow up too!

Brac: (inflate, explode, reform) We're made of unstable molecules!

Bric: We like blowing up.

DTZ: Maybe they're not bluffing.

Bric: Set course for Upchuck 5!

Brac: What?

Bric: I promised the wife I'd pick up a few things at the market on the way home.

Brac: My proto unit said there'd be days like this.

Bric: Come on Brac, it won't take more than a couple of mega seconds.

Gadget: Golly Dale it's incredibly helpful of you to help with the Ranger Plane. I never knew you had an interest in thrust coefficients.

Gadget: Golly this is exciting! (Goes really fast in the Ranger Plane past New York, Egypt, Russia, Paris and back in a matter of seconds) Golly again.

Dale: Are You Going to Take Over our Planet? Are Ya? Are Ya? Are Ya?

DTZ: Gee, No. I just Want to Stay Here and Have Fun!

Dale: Hey! Maybe you can be a Rescue Ranger!

Dtz: What's a Rescue Ranger?

Dale: Why That's Me!

Dtz: Neatooo!

Trivia

The only other episode which shows at least one Rescue Ranger in space is Out to Launch.

The only other episode dealing with aliens is Prehysterical Pet.

The movie that DTZ (while masquerading as Dale) laughs at and calls a 'comedy' is a parody of the 1979 sci-fi horror movie Alien.

In the episode, Dale uses a quote from the 1966 sci-fi TV series Star Trek, namely, "Beam me up, Scotty."

The Statue of Liberty is the first of the various monuments that the Ranger Plane flies by lending some of the evidence for New York being the home of the Rangers.

The name of the planet Fleeblebrox is a play on the character Zaphod Beeblebrox from Douglas Adams' 1983 sci-fi novel The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The journey to the market Bric mentions would probably take over a month (1*10^6 seconds = 277.8 hours = 11.57 days), since he estimates the time needed as "a couple of megaseconds".
