Outline

Chip 'n' Dale Online, also known by its abbreviation "CnD Online", is a website of content relating to Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers and the classic Chip 'n' Dale Shorts. It was first launched on February 2nd, 2006, and over time the website has grown into a large portal of Chip 'n' Dale related media and social interactivity. The sole designer, developer, maintainer and administrator is Ducky.

Content

Chip 'n' Dale Online hosts a wide variety of Chip 'n' Dale related media. These are categorised into the various sections of the website, as outlined:

Image Gallery

The Chip 'n' Dale Online image gallery holds a large selection of official Disney images relating to both the classic Chip 'n' Dale Shorts, and the newer Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers. Available in the image gallery are a large number of screen captures (each sorted according to episode), sketches, concept artworks, model sheets, promotional materials and wallpapers.

Media and Downloads

The Chip 'n' Dale Online media and downloads section currently contains a number of audio samples from Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers and the classic Chip 'n' Dale Shorts. Included are such popular favourites as the Koo Koo Cola theme song, the Fat Cat Stomp and the Rescue Rangers main theme.

Web Links

The Chip 'n' Dale Online web links section contains a number of links to other popular sites directly or indirectly related to Chip 'n' Dale. Members may even add their own website to the list, with a custom banner if they so desire.

Community Gallery

The Chip 'n' Dale Online Community Gallery is an ever-growing compilation of categorised Chip 'n' Dale fan works. It primarily contains fan-created visual artwork (in various forms including traditional media and computer-generated graphics), but also hosts a number of fan fictions, sketches and contest entries. Users can easily upload and present their fan works into the Community Gallery, inside a personal gallery or an appropriate specialised category.

This important feature was unavailable for a short time during the transition of the forums to phpBB3, but as of Spring 2008, the Community Gallery has been restored.

Forums

The Chip 'n' Dale Online forums serve a place where Chip 'n' Dale fans can meet and socialise, as well as a melting pot for ideas relating to the show and its characters. With members from around the world, and a relatively easygoing and relaxed environment, discussion covers a wide range of topics. Multiple forums for on-topic and off-topic discussion are available.

A number of rules apply to usage of the forum.

Chatroom

The Chip 'n' Dale Online chatroom is a HTML-based dynamic chatroom where members of the website can meet and discuss in real-time.

A number of rules apply to usage of the chatroom.

Rules

Like almost any internet forum, Chip 'n' Dale Online has a set of rules to which members are required to adhere. The following is taken from the official rule thread [8], as it stood at the April 22nd, 2009:

These are the basic rules of the forum. As a member, you agree to abide by the rules, both in the public forums and the chat room. Keep in mind that everything you post here is accessible and viewable by anyone who joins the site. Any posts made to the public forums or chat room that are found to be in violation of these terms and conditions are subject to action that may include, but is not limited to, edits, removal, or account termination.
1. No excessive cursing, descriptions of extreme violence, or obscene sexual content.
Keep things as clean as possible. While the chances of a young child participating in the forums is remote, other members of the forum may still be offended by the use of excessively foul language, and graphic or vulgar depictions/descriptions of violence or sexual situations. Use common sense. Any posts or images made for the sole purpose of being "shocking" or offensive will be deleted.
You will not post links to images or use avatars and signatures that are offensive, abusive, disruptive and/or hateful. You will not use images, avatars or link to sites that contain gore, mutilation, pornography or illegal content.
1(b). Do not bypass or attempt to bypass the word filter.
This includes substituting similar characters (e.g., S = $), spacing the letters out, or using the format tags or unicode to "trick" the filter.
2. No flaming, trolling, harassing, or baiting other guests.
Flaming is the hostile and insulting interaction between users, which is not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, nor does it persuade others into agreeing with a certain position. Flame wars usually involve at least one person who believes that their opinion is the only valid one. Trolling means to make posts or threads for the intended purpose of starting an argument, while baiting is any post intended to make another user resort to flaming. Harassment means following a user or group of users around through multiple threads to flame them, bait them, or otherwise cause them to want to avoid the boards because of a user's actions towards them.
2(b). No solicitation or sharing of another member's personal information.
You will not solicit personal information from any member. You will not use information gathered form this website to harass, abuse or harm other people. You may not post another member’s personal information without their consent. This includes, but is not limited to: real names, locations of residency, email addresses, telephone numbers, screen names, etc.
3. No bickering in the public forums, or insulting other members.
I do not want to see any excessive quarreling between members on the public forums. A good debate is just fine, but personally insulting the person you're debating with is not. If you have a problem with someone, you can take it up with them in private, or contact one of the moderators.
4. No hate speech.
No racial slurs, religious discrimination, sexism, homophobic remarks, etc. Do not use language or images that belittle a person's religion, sexual preference or ethnicity. Chip 'n' Dale Online is open and welcoming to everyone, and we plan on keeping it that way.
5. This is not the Anti-Cafe.
Any public bashing or insulting of the Acorn Cafe or its members will not be tolerated.
6. Post in the correct sections.
"Feedback & Suggestions" is for providing feedback and suggestions about the site, "Rescue Rangers" is for discussing the Rescue Rangers, "Chip 'n' Dale Fan Craftings" is for sharing and discussing any Chip 'n' Dale related fan art or fiction, etc. If you are unsure where to post, try Chit Chat. If you post in the wrong section, your thread may be moved to the proper forum with or without notification.
6(b). Keep Threads On-Topic.
If a new idea is sparked by an existing thread, please go start a new one rather than hijacking the current topic. Taking a thread wildly off-topic is disrespectful to the original poster, and can be confusing to other members. It is especially important to new members of the forum who don't know the group yet or understand how everything works. It is understandable that discussions can head off-topic occasionally, but an effort should be made to get back on topic without completely derailing the conversation. Members are encouraged to take off-topic discussions to the Chit-Chat forum.
6(c). Avoid One Line Responses.
One Line or less Responses or "me too" atta-boy comments contribute nothing to the discussion. These include rows of smilies, "you're wrong", "I agree," "good point," or other similar short responses. Please help us maintain the best discussion board possible by considering your responses in both content and length.
7. Respect the Moderators
When I'm not around the moderators are in charge. Their job is to assist me with running the forum, and that includes enforcing the rules and making decisions on my behalf when I'm not around to handle a situation. I trust their judgment and expect their authority to be recognized and respected.
In a Nutshell
Basically what this all comes down to is play nice, respect other members, use common sense, and have fun.
