The Poke thread is the absolute number one round robin on the story board of the Acorn Cafe. Since it began in March of 2006, it has expanded into a monstrous story full of intricate, convoluted, semi-coherent plots and subplots (and even sub-sub-plots) that has topped 200 pages and 3100 posts and spawned at least four spin-off threads (as of July 2007). The thread started innocently enough with a post mentioningthis little flash. From there, patrons started poking each other, which eventually led to all-out paintball warfare.

The Poke thread has taken on a life of its own at the Cafe, and sometimes reflects current events on the board. For example, following several pieces of artwork that depicted Gadget as a werekitty, a plot evolved on the Poke thread that revolved around a werekitty invasion. Some staples of the Poke thread include recurring invasions by random bad guys from alternate evil universes and, of course, lots and lots of random- and brightly-colored paint. Also, a long-running gag of the thread was the number of concussions suffered by the Cafe member Ian (who eventually took the nickname "Concussion Magnet" as one of his aliases.) They were usually caused by being smacked in the head with progressively larger objects (a chair, a couch, a kitchen table, running headfirst into the shields of a starship) and the concussion count topped 11 before he left the Cafe.

Story summary
There were several plots throughout the lifespan of the Poke.

* The Paintball War - the first plotline of the Poke thread, generally featuring posters combating each other with paintball weapons. It was revealed later to have happened in a computer game.
*The Second Paintball War - After remaining dormant for a few months, the Poke thread was reactivated for another paintball war. This eventually turns into a shootout between several Cafe patrons and CCC's army of tripods. This is where Zat'Ni'Katel weapons (from the television show "Stargate: SG-1") are introduced.
*The WereKitty Invasion - the second major plotline of the Poke thread had the Cafe face a werekitty epidemic. Eventually, the werekitties are removed by the application of time travel. This is where large scale weaponry (such as combat starships and tanks) began to be used on the thread.
*Time Travel and Clarice - This subplot actually takes place during the Second Paintball War and the Werekitty Invasion. It involves erasing noted chipmunk nightclub singer Clarice (from Two Chips and a Miss) from the time stream, and then reinserting her. Essentially, it is a storytelling duel between RangerReady23 and Dutch Claricephile CD.
*The Dark Rangerphile Invasion - almost immediately after the werekitties were taken care of, Rangerphiles from a mirror (evil) universe invade the Cafe. The patrons rally forces to fight off their dark counterparts and turn them "good," and then take the fight to the alternate universe using the Rangergate.
*The REB-SCUM War - This part of the Poke thread was a duel between the forces of the REBs (the Racebest-[[Severe Weather Eddie|[Severe Weather] Eddie]]-BOC42 alliance) and the forces of SCUM (Saboteurs and Criminals United in Mayhem, comprised of Ian (aka RiffRaff, aka Concussion Magnet) and Sparky Hardwire.)
* The Search for Home - Dr. Robotnik teleports all of the ships from the Cafe Starfleet across time and space. This plotline revolves around the efforts of the Patrons to return to the Cafe and retake it.
* The Case of Nell McConnor - initiated in the 3000th post. A small girl stumbles into the Cafe in search of the Rescue Rangers. Since they are unavailable, the Rangerphiles offer their help in finding her kidnapped father. This story has been moved to its own thread.

Notable Participants
Many of the Cafe patrons have participated in the Poke thread at one time or another. Here is a list of some of the bigger players:

*UrthQuake - started all the madness by poking random Cafe patrons
*bock's car - introduced paintball warfare when the .50 caliber Browning machine gun turrets on his B-29 Superfortress "malfunctioned," spraying the Cafe with multicolored paint.
*Campisi - Campisi, along with Ian, would usually punctuate the light-hearted warfare with Pulp Fiction quotations, random acts of ultra-violence, and the like. At one point, Campisi appeared to murder Tammy in a manner most vampiric, before Supercheese chose to cast the event as the climax of a virtual-reality simulation.
*Ian - Ian, in the early days of the Poke thread, would join in with Campisi on this and that orgy of violence and destruction. His actions were often a mix of feigned malice and self-depreciating humour.
*RangerReady23 - One of the most notable participants of all and one of the most active, RR is responsible for the thread's repeated reactivation after periods of inactivity. He usually does so by unleashing an enormous amount of fluorescent paint on unsuspecting patrons.
*CCC - CCC's Model AAA tripods are a staple of the Poke thread, and are partly responsible for the Second (Organized) Paintball War (though trigger-happy patrons were also to blame.) The tripods have been at the Cafe, consuming large amounts of scrap metal and appearing in stories and round robins ever since.
*Midnight Man - Midnight participated in the Second Paintball War and both the Werekitty and Dark Rangerphile invasions. He wielded weaponry on the ground, but was also known for taking to the air in his P-51D replica, The Storm.
*AndY - The Tammy-loving Squirrel participated in the Poke thread during its early days, and through both Invasions. Most of the time, the weapons of his choice were vintage tanks.
*Severe Weather Eddie - Another one of the most active participants, Eddie has participated in the Poke thread since the Second Paintball War. He uses his two huge battleships, Columbia and Hyperion, to take on larger threats to the Cafe (such as the Werekitties and the Dark Rangerphiles.) He is also a member of the REBs.
*BOC42 - Also known as "Boxy," she was active mostly during the REB-SCUM war as a starship captain, commanding the Intrepid-class USS Invictus.
*Racebest - Racebest has frequently contributed to the Poke thread throughout much of its lifespan. At one point, he commanded a tug boat, the USS Low Budget, which was known for its frequent engine trouble and other breakdowns (hence the name.) When asked what his notable contributions to Poke were, Racebest responded "enduring pain."
*Charles_Roberts - Charles_Roberts has had numerous characters on the Poke thread, the primary one being his alias Alexander Armington II. Charles is usually the one who brings in new bad guys for the Rangerphiles to fight, usually in the form of an existing villain from one of many animated cartoons, or an alternate universe version of the Rangerphiles themselves.

About
Gunslinger Bink is a sort of a crossover round robin. It combines Rescue Rangers with elements taken from the anime series Gunslinger Girl. It was started as a more "serious" round robin by Arik at the end of June 2007. It is one of the more realistic and mature round robins on the Cafe. It is also currently one of the more popular round robins; as of this writing (July 21, 2007) the story stands at 31 pages and nearly 460 posts.

Story
Tammy comes to the Rescue Rangers and the Acorn Cafe to seek help in finding her little sister, Bink, who was lost in Italy. After some digging, it is discovered that an Italian government agency, the Social Welfare Agency (SWA), has brainwashed Bink and given her cybernetic enhancements to turn her into a child super soldier. Further, Bink is not the only one: the SWA has done this to several little girls. A rescue party is sent out from the Cafe to find Bink and bring her back. Along the way, the party deals with the SWA, the terrorist faction known as the RF, and a traitorous US Navy admiral, all intent on seeing the rescue mission fail and the group members captured (or worse.) Most of the action in this story takes place in the Italian city of Milan, as well as the Mediterranean Sea.

Main Characters
*Bink - the entire story revolves around the little squirrel who was captured by the SWA and brainwashed to become a child assassin. She is Tammy's little sister.

*Tammy - It is Tammy's determination to get home (from Italy back to New York City) that starts the story. Once there, she seeks out the help of the Rescue Rangers (and the Cafe patrons.) She is willing to do anything to get her sister back.

*Fernando - Fernando is the leader of the entire rescue operation and the pilot of the Boeing 737BBJ. He is willing to go to great lengths to do what is moral and right, and get Bink (and the other girls) back. He is very skilled and capable at Special Ops, and is a former intelligence agent of the CIA.

*Jeanette Isabelle - Jeanette acts as Fernando's copilot. She is also present because of her medical training. During the mission, she poses as Fernando's wife as part of their cover story: posing as American tourists.

*Midnight - Midnight is the pilot of one of the Learjets used in the mission. He also managed to "procure" some firearms, and get them past Italian security.

*Sinclair - Sinclair is the pilot of the other Learjet used in the rescue mission.

*Hondo I. Sackett - Hondo is described by Fernando as "being a loose cannon" on the mission. He is certainly very enthusiastic. Hondo is there to provide superior marksmanship for the rescue team, though Fernando keeps a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't go overboard.

*CCC - CCC's Model AAA tripods prove useful in some aspects of the mission (such as downing an Italian jet fighter that was chasing Sinclair back to the Enterprise.) The artificial intelligence also provided crack computer hacking abilities from the Cafe.

*Charles_Roberts - the leader of a team of CIA operatives, Charles provided assistance on the ground. He also gathered valuable intelligence on the SWA through his contacts in the CIA and the US Embassy in Rome.

*RangerReady23 - Captain of the World War II era aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6), RangerReady provided some air support for the entire endeavor. He was also given a secret order...prevent the rescue from succeeding at all costs. Of course, being the moral person that he is, he doesn't follow that order...

*Captain Eddie D. - Captain Eddie commands the battleship USS Texas (BB-72) in this story. He also acted as the Strike Warfare Commander for Texass battlegroup. Due to the covert nature of the mission, he cannot really provide all that much help directly.. But when it looks like Italy would be torn apart by civil war, Eddie helped out by providing forceful presence and evacuating some mission members. Now, he is protecting Enterprise from any attempts to further sabotage their mission.

*Captain Linda Hale - Captain Hale commands the Ticonderoga-class AGEIS cruiser USS San Jacinto (CG-56) in the story. The female fox also serves as the battleship battle group's Air Warfare (AW) commander. She can speak French fluently.

*Admiral Ignacius Donnelly - A high-ranking admiral in the US Navy who is largely responsible for "Project Warriormaid" (The American equivalent to the SWA.) After the project (and his involvement in it) are discovered, Donnelly orders both the battleship USS Texas and the battleship USS North Carolina to intercept and destroy the Enterprise and all evidence of "Project Warriormaid."

Annoying little buggers.

A spambot is a piece of software that registers at a message board for the purposes of advertising or (in the case of the Chan attacks on the Cafe) annoyance. It can usually easily be identified by its random-looking name (often a jumble of letters and numbers), its country , or the website it advertises (which is also usually identified by country.)

Prior to the conversion of the Acorn Cafe to PHPBB version 3, spambots were a constant nuisance. However, the patrons at the Cafe devised a way where they could have some use: by inventing ingenious methods of destroying them on a specially created thread on the Cafe Foyer forum. The newly-identified spambots would be the subject of various forms of destruction, including but not limited to being fired on by all kinds of firearms, being dragged at high speed behind a Ford pickup truck, and used for target practice by both starships and battleships. The popularity of this thread (and the number of spambots) was impressive, as the thread reached 33 pages and 466 posts before dieing out. In addition, it provided an excellent way to notify the moderators of the Acorn Cafe of which accounts needed to be deleted.

This thread has more or less died out since the conversion to PHPBBv3 has virtually eliminated the threat of another "spambot invasion." For now, at least.

Spambots are currently the subject of a 3D animation that Severe Weather Eddie is working on. (And he swears it will be finished someday. No, really...)

About
"Severe Weather" Eddie, or Eddie, is the Cafe's self-appointed resident meteorologist and severe weather nut (case.) He joined on June 26, 2006, but was unable to post until about a week later. Eddie is a full-time meteorology student attending school in New Hampshire, though he lives in Virginia. At college, he works as a Community Advisor (CA, or RA as some schools call it.) When not at college, Eddie can be found working at Lowe's Home Improvement Center. He is PhantomKitty's brother.

Eddie also has a self-insertion character for the numerous round robins that take place at the Cafe.

Eddie was the subject of a song parody called The Ballad of Eddie Dixon written by RangerReady23. It was a parody of The Ballad of Davy Crockett.

Eddie has produced a few pieces of Rangery artwork since joining. All can be found on the RRDatabase. In addition, he drew comics for two of the awards for the 2006 Golden Acorn Awards and three for the 2007 Golden Acorn Awards. He is currently working on pictures for Owlor's New and Improved Acorn Cafe Group Portrait.

3D Animations and Artwork
Eddie is also a 3D computer animator and modeler, and has produced a few pieces specifically for the Cafe. He created the background picture for Owlor's New and Improved Cafe Group Portrait, and he did a render of a Spambot for the "Spambot Welcome Thread." Additionally, following the Tamira and UrthQuake's Excellent Adventure thread, Eddie created a brief animation featuring a space battle from that round robin. He is currently working on an animation of the Cafe Starfleet taking on an armada of spambots, since the Cafe has had problems with them.

Awards
I have a question concerning the GAA pages' layout (more precisely it's standardization):

1. Should the "Other nominees" section be done as a list (like in the 2007 awards' page)? I believe it is more clear that way.

2. Should the links redirect to individual works, author's page on the Wiki, a section of it or somewhere entirely different?

3. Should the maintainers of a web page be mentioned when the page itself receives the award (like Best Website Content)?

I'm not sure. Basically, I was bored that night, had just remembered my RangerWiki login (I'd forgotten my password) and noticed that no one had done anything for the 2007 GAAs yet. So I worked on them until I literally fell asleep at my desk. (Which might also explain unstandardized layouts...)

1. Go for it, either way.

2. I was planning on having all the artwork categories link to the authors. But like I said, it was late. (And my hand started to cramp up.)

3. I pretty much copied stuff straight from the GAA Awards threads. So go for it either way.

Severe Weather Eddie has created his self-insertion character for the numerous round robins that take place at the Cafe.

Appearance
Eddie is a red fox. He has brown hair and eyes, and he wears a pair of glasses due to his terrible eyesight. His clothing matches what he usually wears in real life: a wide-brimmed Boy Scout campaign hat (often mistaken for a cowboy hat), a pair of blue jeans, a T-shirt, and a green short-sleeved work shirt. Eddie often wears the work shirt unbuttoned like a vest, though other times he will button it up.

In addition to these clothes, Eddie usually has a large multitool and a small Mag-Lite, both of which he keeps in pouches hooked to his belt. He also carries a silver Colt M1911A1 .45 cal semi-automatic handgun. His gun can fire real ammunition, paintball ammunition, and tranquilizer rounds.

Occasionally, Eddie will wear the uniform of a United States Navy captain (when he is on his battleship, the USS Texas) or a modified United States Air Force uniform, with the rank of colonel (when commanding the spacegoing battleship USS Columbia.)
(It bears mentioning that Eddie does not hold any sort of military rank in real life.)

Personality
Eddie has described his personality on the Cafe as a combination of Han Solo, Baloo from TaleSpin, and Colonel Jack O'Neil from Stargate SG-1. He is a "take charge" kind of guy, and will go to great lengths to help a friend in need. Eddie is "smarter than the average fox," so to speak, and can think quickly on his feet (something that helps him in command positions.) He enjoys just about anything starship related.

Ships
Eddie is fascinated with battleships. To that end, he has a small flotilla at the Acorn Cafe. He has two different classes of ships: (up to) five Texas-class oceangoing battleships: USS Texas, BB-72, USS Montana, BB-73, USS Georgia, BB-74, USS Louisiana, BB-75, and USS Rhode Island, BB-76, and two Columbia-class starships (also classified as battleships): USS Columbia, BBX-101, and USS Hyperion, BBX-102. In addition to the ships, Eddie drives a humongous blue 2008 Ford F-250 pickup truck. He has also been known to utilize other vehicles, including a Vietnam-era US Army gun truck and a WWII-era DUKW.

Severe Weather Eddiehttp://rangerwiki.net/index.php?title=The_Poke_Thread&diff=4035The Poke Thread2008-03-04T08:13:33Z
Severe Weather Eddie: /* Notable Participants */ Changed links to my avatar page

( ...please expand the list...)

Most of the times, the weapons of his choice were vintage tanks.

Mr. Dumpty is an incidental character, appearing in the episode Three Men and a Booby. He's an egg collector.

Canonical Information
Appearance
Mr. Dumpty is a small man with pale, almost gray skin, an egg-shaped head on an egg-shaped body with a small tuft of dark hair on top. He wears a red coat.

Personality
Mr. Dumpty is an impatient man, always eager to complete his collection of eggs. He's very paranoid and "employs" a pair of hawks to take care of anything that might endanger his eggs.

He is literally obsessed with eggs, and as such most of his life revolves around them. His house, his furniture, even his helicopter are egg-shaped in one way or another. He appears to even live on a diet of mostly eggs and it seems that he simply can't get enough of them. His most treasured possessions are "live" eggs, presumably one from every bird in existence.

Though he is a member of an association of egg-collectors, his butler Nog revealed that Mr. Dumpty has no real friends, a fact which he himself seems blissfully ignorant of. Apparently, his only familiars are Nog and his pet hawks.

Episode and Role
Mr. Dumpty appeared in the episode Three Men and a Booby, where he tried to complete his collection of eggs by kidnapping Mrs. Booby's egg. During her search for her baby she met the Rescue Rangers and together they tracked down the egg to Mr. Dumpty's mansion.

During the episode, Mr. Dumpty tried everything to complete his collection, not only by stealing Mrs. Booby's egg but also, when the Rangers managed to escape with the egg, by imprisoning Mrs. Booby and demanding her to lay another egg for him.

By the end of the episode, he not only lost the booby-egg but his whole collection when Chip and Zipper caused all eggs to hatch.
During the episode, Mr. Dumpty tried everything to complete his collection, not only by stealing Mrs. Booby's egg but also, when the Rangers managed to escape with the egg, by imprisoning Mrs. Booby, wanting her to lay another egg for him.

By the and of the episode, he not only lost the booby-egg but his whole collection when Chip with the help of Zipper caused all eggs to hatch.

Gertrude Phelps is a plain but neat mouse lady who wears a frilly shirt, beads and a sombre business suit.

Personality
Gertrude is conscientious, hard working and honest. She has a liberal attitude towards most things and cares for those under her authority. She enjoys the respect and trappings that go with being an authority figure.

Role
Gertrude Phelps was the warden of Shrankshaw Prison, where Gadget Hackwrench was sent after a case of mistaken identity. Although well meaning she was mostly ineffectual.

Synopsis
The episode begins with all of the Rescue Rangers (except Gadget) much the worse for wear after their latest case. Gadget declares that the Rangers are becoming too violent, and must learn to be "kinder and gentler." Many of the Rangers (particularly Monty) are not very enthusiastic about this change. Chip, however, goes along with it (if only to impress Gadget.) The Rangers set out on several minor cases. While Monty's plans all involve charging in and dishing out some punishment, Chip comes up with several successful non-violent alternatives.

Finally the Rangers get their biggest test: a string of robberies of homes. The robberies all seem to follow a certain adoption agency (run by Monrovia and Pomona) and the Rangers investigate. Baby Thaddeus is put up for adoption one more time, and the Rangers stick around to watch over him. They follow the mischievous infant around as he gets into all sorts of trouble.

Then, the Rangers make a startling discovery. "Baby" Thaddeus is no baby...he's a pint-sized gangster using the adoption agency as a front to rob homes. After all the headaches Thaddeus causes for the Rangers, Gadget finally abandons her nonviolent stance (quite furiously) and the Rescue Rangers set about building a trap for Thaddeus in order to prevent him from looting the Hancock Estate. After dragging him violently through the whole house (using a rope attached to the RangerWing) Thaddeus and his accomplices, Monrovia and Pomona, finally surrender as the police arrive.

Flash the Wonder Dog is a one-shot character who appeared in the episode Flash the Wonder Dog. He is a German Shepherd actor who stars in a TV show (also called Flash the Wonder Dog) in which he played a heroic dog who fought crime. In contrast to the role he played, the real Flash was very afraid of heights. He was kidnapped (well, dognapped) by Fat Cat, who didn't like the fact that the hero and star of the show was a dog. Though Flash escaped with the help of the Rescue Rangers, Fat Cat and his gang framed him for several crimes. However, with the help of the Rescue Rangers, Flash not only cleared his name, but he overcame his fear of heights and looked like a real hero. He was awarded honorary membership in the Rescue Rangers.
Synopsis
The episode begins with Dale watching the TV show "Flash the Wonder Dog." A few minutes later, a breaking news report comes on—the show's star, Flash, has disappeared! Dale insists that they go and find him, so the Rangers climb into the Ranger Plane and go out to search for him. Several hours later, they find Flash in an abandoned building, being guarded by a sleeping Mepps. The Rangers manage to get Flash out, even though a cheese attack by Monty almost ruins their escape. During the escape though, the Rangers learn that the supposedly fearless Flash has an extreme fear of heights. Dale is very disappointed that his hero is apparently a fake, and they part ways, with Flash heading back to the TV station.

Meanwhile, Fat Cat (irked that the star and hero of the TV show is a dog) and his gang have been committing various crimes while disguised as Flash the Wonder Dog in order to destroy his reputation. These included filling a construction foreman's car with cement, breaking a baby's milk bottle, knocking over a stack of tomato crates, and painting over a brand new billboard. These events are discovered by the Rangers when they are aired on the news. Dale sums up their reaction, saying, "Flash may not be a hero, but he's no bad guy!" The Rangers set out to find Flash before the angry citizens do. They find him just as he reaches the TV station, and they help him escape an angry mob that chases him through the TV studio past several sets where filming is going on (including a cooking show, where the chef's soufflé is ruined, and a Bill Nye-style science show.)

The Rangers, who by now have figured out that Fat Cat framed Flash for some reason, are trying to figure out a way to clear him when they learn that "Flash" (Fat Cat in disguise) is holding Conrad Cockatoo (Flash's former co-star who had recently been named as his replacement) hostage on set. The Rangers hatch a plan that will clear Flash and save Conrad. Gadget and Zipper head to the control room and Monty heads to one of the cameras while Chip, Dale, and Flash head for the set. With his trademark howl, Flash overcomes his fear of heights and jumps down from a catwalk, landing on Fat Cat and unmasking him. Monty turns the camera around while Gadget sets up the broadcast and has Zipper hit the "transmit/on-air" button as the action unfolds. Flash is cleared on national television and gets his show back while Fat Cat beats a hasty retreat.

The episode ends with Flash thanking the Rescue Rangers profusely for clearing him and making him look like a hero and Chip proclaiming him an honorary Rescue Ranger.

Every year since 2002, the Acorn Cafe has awarded outstanding Rangerphiles, creations and achievements in several categories with the Golden Acorn Award. Nominations and elections are done by the Rangerphiles. The ceremonies themselves are held at the end of a year or the very beginning of the following year, pre-written as fanfic-like scripts by involved Rangerphiles and assembled and published by Dr. Indy in real-time to create the feeling of a live show.

In contrast to the Plato Awards, only works from one year's period can be given a Golden Acorn Award.

He has two different classes of ships: (up to) five Texas-class oceangoing battleships: USS Texas, BB-72, USS Montana, BB-73, USS Georgia, BB-74, USS Louisiana, BB-75, and USS Rhode Island, BB-76, and two Columbia-class starships (classified as battleships): USS Columbia, BBX-101, and USS Hyperion, BBX-102. In addition to the ships, Eddie drives a humongous blue 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck.

About
"Severe Weather" Eddie, or Eddie, is the Cafe's self-appointed resident meteorologist and severe weather nut (case.) He joined on June 26, 2006, but was unable to post until about a week later. Eddie is a full-time meteorology student attending school in New Hampshire, though he lives in Virginia. When not at college, Eddie can be found working at Lowe's Home Improvement Center. He is PhantomKitty's brother.

Eddie also has a self-insertion character for the numerous round robins that take place at the Cafe.

Most of the times, the weapons of his choice were vintage tanks.

Memorable Quotes
"Poke isn't supposed to be a logical, logistical round robin with rules, really. It's just an excuse some of us thought up to constantly douse each other with paint and get into all out battles."
Chip, however, goes along with it (if only to impress Gadget.). The Rangers set out on several minor cases. While Monty's plans all in involve charging in and dishing out some punishment, Chip comes up with several successful non-violent alternatives.

Chip, however, goes along with it. The Rangers set out on several minor cases. While Monty's plans all in involve charging in and dishing out some punishment, Chip comes up with several successful non-violent alternatives.

Kan Sune is a main original character from Matt Plotecher's Chip Noir Dale's Rescue Rangers universe.

Appearance
Kan Sune is a young female mouse. Her remarkably bright fur stands in a contrast to her long black hair, and her eyes are green. She is displayed in various clothing:
* a white silk kimono with a red sash
* a short-sleeve shirt combined with long, heavy pants and a rugged jacket which she only wears when it's getting really chilly up in the mountains

Personality
In the beginning of her first adventure with the Rescue Rangers, Kan appears to be quite flirtatious, yet always decent. In combination with her beauty, this makes her very hard to resist, especially for Dale, but not so much less for Chip who doesn't mind her calling him Chipper, and for Monterey Jack.

Being Japanese means being polite, and this applies to Kan, too. However, there is one exception, and that is An Tham Sun. She has known Tham and his goals for several years when she meets the Rangers for the first time. Their different points of view lead her to using a certain sarcasm towards him. Actually, Tham is the only one who can make her forget her countenance. Fortunately, things change in the course of her mission.

Kan combines an undeniable wisdom with martial arts skills, Tae-Kwan-Boot, to be more precise. These skills go as far as an ability to defeat multiple fighters with katanas while she herself is wearing a nightgown and carrying no weapon at all, in addition to what she is able to do when she is armed herself. Like Gadget Hackwrench, she shows a surprising physical strength.

Her knowledge about the region where she lives and especially the mountains make her an ideal guide for the Rangers on their quest.

Role
Kan lives in a small city in Japan named Mihiushi which is located by a cliff and near Mount Ufoolu.

In Fly to the Light, Kan's primary task is to stop Tham's plans regarding the Furfoot clan. This explains her eagerness to help and guide the Rescue Rangers on their mission when she finds out that they will lead her to Tham when they're successful.
Synopsis
Dale is caught up with Dirk Suave movies (a parody of the James Bond films) and seeks to play the part of the superspy. When Dale fails miserably on his own, the rest of the Rangers arrange a game for him so he can live out his fantasy. But when the Rangers get mixed up with a real spy, who aims to steal the plans for a top secret jet tank, Dale gets more than he bargained for. In the end, it's up to Dale to play the game for real, rescue the other Rangers, and defeat the real spy.

Trivia
The jet tank, the secret weapon that the evil spy is trying to steal, bears a few resemblances to the Soviet Firefox jet from the 1982 spy thriller Firefox. Both are controlled directly by thoughts from the pilot. This is somewhat similar to the parody of the movie Alien in the episode Dale Beside Himself.

This episode is a favorite among some Gadgetphiles, because it shows Gadget in her infamous red dress.
Synopsis
The episode begins with the Fleeblebroxians (who can change shapes) Bric, Brac, and DTZ preparing to return home after their vacation on Earth. Bric and Brac leave, but DTZ doesn't want to because he likes it on Earth. DTZ leaves the Fleeblebroxian ship just before it goes to warp, and returns to Earth where he lands near Rescue Ranger Headquarters.

Meanwhile, Chip sends Dale out to go gather more walnuts after Dale ate all of the ones that Monty was using to make walnut wallaroos. In doing so, Dale meets DTZ, who decides that he wants to be a Rescue Ranger like Dale, and takes his shape. The other Rangers notice a profound change in Dale as DTZ tries to be helpful around the HQ.

Meanwhile, Bric and Brac have returned, discovering that DTZ is missing. DTZ sends Dale back up to the Fleeblebroxian ship, where he causes all sorts of trouble before escaping and returning to prove that DTZ is an impostor. The Fleeblebroxians follow, and threaten to "atomize the Earth to tiny bits" if the real DTZ doesn't show himself, and it's up to Dale to prove that he's the real thing.
Fan Art
So far, PK is known for her fan art projects. She is an excellent artist (outdoing her brother) and has so far created several pieces of art that can be found on the Cafe. In fact, she started producing fan art before she even joined.
More examples of her artwork can be found on the Art Board of the Acorn Cafe.
Fan Fiction
PhantomKitty has yet to release any fanfiction for the Rescue Rangers. However, she has already written several pieces of fan fiction for other genres, including Stargate: SG-1, The Haunted Mansion, and parodies of several Disney movies. These can be found at her FanFiction.net account.

It should be noted that rumor has it (on very good authority) that PhantomKitty is currently working on some Rescue Ranger fan fiction projects.
